Sigiriya ❤️✨.


Sigiriya, also known as the Lion Rock, is one of the most famous historical sites in Sri Lanka. It is located in the central part of the country, near Dambulla. Sigiriya was built in the 5th century by King Kashyapa I as a royal palace and fortress. The rock rises about 200 meters above the surrounding land, making it an impressive and strong defensive site. Sigiriya also has well-planned gardens. There are water gardens, terraced gardens, and boulder gardens, showing the advanced engineering skills of that time. At the top of the rock, the ruins of the king’s palace can be seen, including pools and foundations. Sigiriya is important because it shows the cultural and architectural achievements of ancient Sri Lanka. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular place for tourists. ❤️🌍
